K. N. says: I’m currently a sophomore and I’ve only been working with Scott for about 3 months. When I first came to Scott, I decided that as a sophomore I was going to get ready for the SATs in late junior year. Scott was amazed at how early I wanted to start studying and now I know a lot more than most sophomores and some juniors do about the SATs. In my 3 months, I have learned about the tricks in the SATs, techniques to answer questions, confidence, and so much more. And the SATs are about a year a half away! I’ve learned to not be intimidated by the SATs and be confident in what I can do. I love each of our tutoring sessions. I always come out of each one with a new perspective and knowledge of the SATs, which make each session beneficial and valuable. Not only do we study, but we also have fun at the same time. He makes jokes and impersonations, which make every session interesting and exciting. [Especially when we get to play Boggle at the end of class] With my private lessons, not only does he help me with the SATs, but he also helps me with my homework. Whenever I have questions, I can call him or email him for help or I bring the work to our lesson so that he can show me how to do something. Scott has constantly told me that I can reach my goal [near perfect score] if I work at it. Scott is a great tutor, but you need the push and motivation to want to improve and once you have that, Scott can take you where you want.

I will continue to accept students of all ages for private lessons aimed at meeting and surpassing individual goals.

My goals for this coming school year:
1) Add to the ever-growing list of SFCLS Alumni I help gain acceptance to top H.S. and Universities.
2) Help 100 new students become better writers; 100 discover new math talents, 100 ACE the SAT or SSAT.
3) Lead a French conversation/cinema/cooking course for adults and teens.
4) Become fully fluent in Spanish.
5) Finish the last draft of Super Clean Bean.
6) As always, show all my students how they can become their own best teachers, develop a life-long love of learning, and watch them grow and learn to make their deepest dreams come true.
